How We Started
Our founder, Josh Rizek, often heard from people who were disappointed with their inspection experience and wished they had better options. He knew his attention to detail and passion for real estate would be the perfect combination to help others in their property search.
Josh has experience across a variety of industries, from small businesses to large corporations. He’s learned valuable lessons from each of these experiences and brings the best of both worlds to his work at Acorn Inspections.

About Josh
Josh graduated from John Glenn High School in Walkerton, Indiana. He then attended the Universal Technical Institute. After graduating there, he was selected to go to Mercedes-Benz Elite training. While working there, Josh became a Master Certified Technician for Mercedes-Benz. As most things are with Mercedes, everything is about quality. Josh inspected new and used cars for defects, similar to property inspections.
Josh was co-owner of a CNC machine shop in Indiana and oversaw the quality control program. He successfully helped the shop achieve ISO 9001 and AS9100 (Aerospace) certifications. In his daily tasks, he inspected parts daily for issues. Josh also currently has rental properties that he repairs and manages.
Currently, Josh holds the certification of Certified Master Inspector with InterNACHI and Certified Commercial Professional Property Inspector with CCPIA. He remains committed to professional development by continuously enrolling in courses to enhance his knowledge and skills in the real estate and inspection industries.
